The Dutch artist Tamar Frank studied Monumental design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Maastricht (The Netherlands). Since her graduation she works with light as her main means to create art. Frank uses daylight as well as artificial light and her central objective is to interact with the (architectural) environment. Her site-specific light installations vary in character: she creates very subtle and minimal works as well as large an d space altering installations. Frank likes to use non-conventional materials as nylon, phosphorescent pigments, light sensors and advanced technology. However divergent her work may be, the artist continuously strives to transform her surroundings with the use of light into a new spacial experience.

For Koraalberg Gallery Tamar Franks participated at INTO THE LIGHT, a project in collaboration with ERROR One. It was an international project for contemporary art with video- and light installations in the city of Antwerp during the darkest days of the year.
Frank created a new installation that gradually reveals the gallery space through an increasing flow of blue light. The installation, that can only been seen from the street and after 18hrs, transforms the spectators experience of the gallery space and its perception of the architecture.

INTO THE LIGHT was a project from Dec 2 2009 - Jan 16 2010
